The Mid-autumn or Moon Festival takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. In 2015, in Hong Kong, this will be on Sunday the 27th of September, with a public holiday on the following day, Monday the 28th.

The main Lantern Carnival (Urban Lantern Carnival) and other Mid-autumn events are held at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay on Sunday the 27th, from 8.00pm to 11.00pm.

The programme is meant to include Chinese ethnic dances and songs, acrobatics, the fire dragon dance parade, a demonstration of Chinese folk crafts, children songs, folk songs, shuttlecock kicking, rope skipping and yoyos, a creative market, and a lantern quiz.
